GUYS, I MISS THIS CAST AND PROJECT. ;____; I was never in the LotR fandom. I was a HUGE fan, but I didn't participate online in anything. Look at all the amazing things I missed. I can't decide whether to flail over The Hobbit or not because it has all these random actors I don't know yet. It's not the saaaaame. On the other hand, I was a total fantasy nerd way before the movies came out, so I will still be very excited. Just maybe a little sad as well.

One: an article about love and hatred and basic human decency. It's very powerful, along with the responses he posted later. I might be behind everyone in posting this now, but I was glad to read it.

Two: I have a replacement computer that seems to work very well. There are things about it I don't like, but it doesn't crash, so I'll take it. I will be resuming subbing soon, but not at the speed I used to.

Three: I'm tired of not having a job. I've decided just to look at a variety of jobs available, whether I'm technically qualified or not, as long as I'm confident I could do a good job there with the training available to me. And I need to buy a car, but I now have less money to do so. Time to lower my price range. XD

The good news is my meanie of a laptop finally for replaced with one that doesn't freeze, so I can sub again. Unfortunately, I have no idea what has and hasn't been subbed! The

je_index has been down for some time. A replacement has shown up, but I've heard it's not complete, so I hesitate to trust it. I also much prefer the format of the old index. Fortunately, an anonymous commenter (let me know if you want credit ;D) saved the html and

fuyukoi has put the site back up OVER HERE. 8Db You can thank her in this post, if you'd like. One more time:

Now, the problem is that it hasn't been updated since ~~August~~ November 2010 (~~and the drama/pv pages may not be complete~~ Done!). It's still a great help to everyone looking for old projects, though. The real point of this post is to ask for help. Is anyone willing to help get the index up to date? Please comment here (or pm me if you don't want anyone to know, for some reason) and I will hook you up with

fuyukoi, a password, and a plan to get this going. There are some messed up links due to the waybackmachine grabbing cached pages, but I think it shouldn't be too hard to clean up. *pretends she knows anything about html beyond posting on LJ* Done!

I don't think this is a spoiler unless you have no clue what the show's even about. It's just a general musing...

Why the hell can all the monsters tell he's a Grimm? Unless his face changes and we can't see it because it's in his perspective, or they somehow smell him... I just don't get it. XD

I'm enjoying the show so far. I can't remember any of the names, especially the monsters' types. Maybe if we saw them written at the same time. Meh. I still find the show entertaining, especially the reluctant helper.

ONTD party time!

Say what you will about ONTD's hive-mind and rude behavior, but the "writer" BAWWWWWWing is very clearly in the wrong here, and I see no way she'll ever fess up and apologize for misreading the situation. The ONTD article that wasn't up to her citation standards (though her site was in fact linked) was deleted before a mod got a chance to look at it. If all she cared about was the citation, that should have ended it right there. Instead she wanted a public reprimand for the poster (lol like he's on payroll or something), despite the fact that the post was not against ONTD rules. In reality, she posted about it on tumblr, reddit, twitter... She just lambasted ONTD and whined about how the internet doesn't care about being intelligent and sourcing correctly. Note that her "source" was no different than ONTD's usual fare: "Source [ONTD]" with a hyperlink. She also deleted comments from her article then eventually disallowed them. This all started because a third site credited ONTD for the article instead of her directly. She dealt with them in a mature, responsible way, and they changed their citation. Note that the third site (Jezabel?) often uses ONTD as a source, despite ONTD's very clear source links at the bottom of every non-original post. This whole thing is especially sad because I would like to support a feminist journal, but she's being such a complete asshat about this.

OK, time for something else. I've been subbing a long project lately, so maybe I'll go work on that some more.

So putting aside the comment subjects for now... The "expand" option on the thread starter seems to be gone. You have to click "expand" on each individual subthread. It might be a style thing... I need to find an uncustomized page to test it out...but I don't like it! OK, so that's probably the fault of some customized pages. Still. LJ really messed up this time. It's so annoying when they change good features.
